We received great news today about our son Travis!DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern junior offensive lineman Travis Kincheloe has been selected by Career Athletes to participate in its internship program for the spring semester.
Starting in February, interns will begin a three-month program for individuals looking to gain professional experience in a campus setting. Supervised by Kim Pence, Director of Student-Athlete Development and Internships at Career Athletes, the goal of the internship is to help grow and increase activity in the Career Athletes networks of each individual intern.
“Our spring 2012 interns have a great opportunity to educate their peers on campus while growing their own professional network,” said Pence. “We have a great group of interns that reach coast to coast as well as throughout NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA institutions.”
Kincheloe is a native of Georgetown, Texas, and is pursuing a degree in occupational health and safety.
This past football season Travis was named to the Capital One Academic All-District first team selected by CoSIDA, and in 2010 Travis was selected first team Lone Star Conference North division.
He also excels in the classroom, twice earning Southeastern’s Male Scholar Athlete of the year, claiming the honor in 2010 and 2011.
“The athletic department is very proud of Travis and his accomplishments,” said Associate Athletic Director Cherrie Wilmoth, “As well as his selection as an intern for Career Athletes.”
